School is out!!!!

LAST WEEK WE HAD A LITTLE FUN SINCE IT WAS JASON'S FIRST WEEK OUT FOR SUMMER! WE WENT TO THE DINO PARK AND THEN DOWN TO THANKSGIVING POINT TO ENJOY THE FARM!

Seriously- WHY WON'T MY CHILDREN LOOK AT THE CAMERA!!!
JARED GOT TO RIDE HIS HORSE- BUT WAS SO ENTRANCED BY THE ORDEAL THAT HE FORGOT HOW TO SMILE- OR EVEN LOOK AT ME REALLY. HE LOVED IT. WE ALSO HAD A FUN HORSE-DRAWN WAGON RIDE. JARED WAS DETERMINED THAT THE HORSES WERE GOING THE WRONG WAY.
THIS IS A SITE THAT I NEVER HOPE TO SEE!!!! THEY BOTH THOUGHT IT WAS HILARIOUSSSSSSSS!!

and NOW we have totally torn apart our backyard, side yard, and most of the front. What we plan to do with it all, has yet to be seen! We are planting a big squash/pumpkin patch in the backyard. We are planting flowerbeds in the front- transplanting most of the BEAUTIFUL tulips from the backyard. and trying to figure out what to do on the side of the front yard where we tore out the 50 year old nasty rose bushes.

and THEN we are going to replace our front porch. by OURSELVES. well, not totally- we aren't doing any of this by ourselves. we really have the most amazing neighbors in the world that are teaching us tons of new fun things! but, we are going to try to do our porch we just instructions. i think it's time for us to be real grown ups and do things ourselves! :) we'll see how long it lasts!

His new favorite song

Lately Jared has been asking us over and over and over again to sing this song. He is loving it so much that he very willingly agreed to sing it on camera. Usually he runs and hides from the camera. I LOVE his sweet little voice. His other favorite song to sing is 'Called to Serve' (i really need to get that one on camera). He wakes up in the morning yelling- oh, i mean singing- that one at the TOP of his lungs!

He is DETERMINED!!

This little video doesn't really show how good he is getting- but usually when i pull the camera out he drops down and crawls full speed ahead to attack the camera. That is why he is facing the other way at the begining- i know, i'm a tricky mommy..... :)

For the Grandparents

Well, let's face it. I'm a major slacker when it comes to this blog. I think about it a lot- does that count? I've even slacked on just taking pictures of my adorable boys. Not to mention the fact that i haven't even been posting other posts like i used to. One fine day......
So, i thought i would at least dump a bunch of pictures on here of what we have been up to- for the grandparents, naturally!

We took jared bowling for his first real time. As you can see from the scoreboard above- we aren't very good bowlers AND jared did just about as well as jason and me. He loved it! Jason has finished his semester- one more year of undergrad to go!!!!!!! we are soooo on the countdown. what's ahead is a big mystery- kind of. jason is going to start out his aplications for military relations and BYU's master in religious studies. He is planning now to become an army chaplin. Which requires a masters, which is way more school than we were planning on doing in the immediate future. BUT that is just the way the plan is going- BYU's program starts next summer, and it's only every other year- soooooo, that is what we are focussing on. BUT if that doesn't happen (he doesn't get into BYU- we will just go active duty and start his masters online. We shall see what happens!
SOOOOO for now, as we focus on preparing for the future, we are LOVING LIFE! and now loving the fact that jason is out of school until august!!! We've got lots of projects to work on, and lots of fun plans for the summer!!
This picture is of Jared and Zoia taking a BIG BATH- can you tell how much water is in there?? he LOVED IT!
We've been spending a TON of time outside- but have had a lot of rain!!! it's green and beautiful. Spencer LOVES to eat the sand. and well, ANYTHING else. He is just about walking- this evening he was taking 5-10 steps at a time. he is trying sooo hard! he gets really frustrated because he wants to be fast and be there NOW! I've been amazed as he get older at how DIFFERENT he and jared are. not that i didn't know that from the beginging- totally different infants, but spencer is one fiesty boy! the easiest way to demonstrate this- I think i have taken jared out of sacrament meeting maybe once or twice HIS ENTIRE LIFE! spencer on the other hand- EVERY SUNDAY HE SCREAMS AND GRUNTS AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS! he is sooooo loud. quite the tantrum throwing boy. and it's interesting to see- the more tantrums that spencer throws, jared has now started throwing them a bit. he has never done that! But it's great! as frustrating as his tantrums can be- he is hilarious to watch!

And i can't even tell you how big my jared boy is getting. He is going to be three soon and it is amazing to watch how much he is learning and understanding. And he has a memory that is ASTOUNDING! he is a carbon copy of his daddy and wants to do EVERYTHING that jason does. i mean EVERYTHING! I've decided jared is just like his daddy and spencer with his ornery attitude is a bit too much like me :)
And when they team up- this is what happens. My poor scriptures got destroyed. i was on a rather important phone call. I kept hearing this weird noise. Went in the other room to check it out- there was spencer ripping one page out at a time- he ripped half the book out. and then, there was jared on the couch "reading" from my other book. he was so kind to give spencer one scripture power to read, and keep one for himself!
and last but not least, jason and i have been dieting all month long. Yep, it was jason's idea. When we first were married jason told me he would NEVER diet. well, yeah, that didn't happen. he has lost about 30 pounds and me, a measely 10. It's so NOT FAIR. i blame it on my crazy hormones. but i think i'm getting those under control, so now i can loose the last 10. Anyway, it's been great. We totally changed our eating habits, and since, you know, i have a degree in this health stuff, it feels great to actually apply the knowledge i have.
