Reunion '09

The 4th and Aunt Brookie

Since Jason was gone for the 4th, i wasn't really planning on doing much of anything. (i know, i'm a terrible mom) Ogden does it's big celebrations for the 24th, so there wasn't a big parade or anything. And really, who want to take a 3 and 1 year old to see fireworks- and then take them to church the next morning by themselves?? not me.

BUT we got lucky! My little sister Brooke ended up calling me on friday, saying she was in town. So we went and got her, and she came and spent the night and next morning with us. we went to the treehouse, where i didn't take any pictures. But outside and all around dowtown Ogden, they have 75 painted horses that my boys LOVE!! so we looked a couple of those too while we were there.

Then, the morning of the 4th we went down to the airforce museum, which we had never been to before. The boys thought the planes were cool, brooke and i thought it was all interesting, but the best part was this tiny little activity room they have. Jared dressed up like a spaceman, and could have stayed and played FOREVER! he was just in pure heaven. There was a little old man there volunteering who wanted to make sure that the boys saw EVERYTHING they had to offer. I kept trying to leave, and he would pull something new out to show them. we definitely need to go back again another time!

Thanks again for coming to see us Brooke! we don't get to see you often, but we sure LOVE YOU!!!

On anther note

The love of my life is gone for four weeks. It's only been 5 days and the boys and i are already going through major withdrawels. We don't get to talk to him on the phone or email him. nothing but good 'ol snail mail. HATE IT!

But, on another note....... my sweet jared boy is stepping up to the plate to make sure that even though he is trying my patience more than ever ("ha ha, daddy's gone far far away!") he also has be very quick to repeatedly say to me "Mommy, you are just amazing!" over and over again- which is something that jason says to me often, and i didn't realize jared would have picked up on it. I'm so grateful for such a loving husband that treats me wonderfully and for AMAZING boys that follow in his footsteps!

I'm getting there.....

So, here is the beginning of our two week extravaganza to California~! we really had such an awesome trip. I didn't label any of the pictures and really don't plan and going back and telling you all about them right now. But i wanted to at least get something NEW on here. The brief version- we stopped in ST George for a night on our way down and saw my grandma barker; then we went to vegas the next night and hung out with the bradys; then down to my dad's where we really got to spend a bunch of time with my littlest brother, Kasen- and lots with sweet baby alice. (even with all the pictures i took, i didn't get any with my dad, cathy, brooke, or lisa-- sorry!) we took kasen to the zoo, and venice, and they swam and swam and swam. We also met up with friends two different days- but again, no pics! sorry clarks and ricks!! we had so much fun swimming! Then we saw danielle and angela, got stuck in four hour traffic, so stopped at the temple on our way home. and..... well, now i'm telling you about all the pictures, so i'm going to stop. and, 'cause, that's all i've posted about so far.
