MMSM- "Today I declare my independence....."

With independence day in mind, Shannon's blog carnival is centered on what each individual wants to declare their independence from. to be totally honest, i just don't know. i'm pretty content with what i have. i guess i have days where i'd like independence from annoying drivers and rude people. i'd like to be free to travel extensively without the burden of cost- but that seems more like a super power desire! in reality, i'd really just like to declare MY independence in general.
I grew up as independent ornery child. i'm still that way. i'm proud to be independent. i can take care of myself and any around me that might need my services. i declare my independence to be able to be married to the man i love and have children when i want to have them. my independence allows me the opportunity to make my own choices, good and bad, and that freedom alone makes me smile. being independent gives me the opportunity to choose where i want to live- in a great home and wonderful country, with the blessing of being able to practice my religion as i choose. it allows me to go to the grocery store and find good wholesome food to feed my family. my independence lets me eat chocolate when i want to! i'm grateful for a day or week or whatever that makes me think about what makes me both independent and dependent. sometimes those things end up being the same.
